Many years ago my sister Madge introduced me to Peter Bloch an Alexander Technique teacher who lives and runs a practice in Wilmslow.  We are exceptionally lucky to have such a highly skilled  teacher here in Cheshire, he also runs a training school for those who wish to qualify in the Alexander Technique.

I have huge appreciation and praise for his skills, knowledge  and sensitivity I highly recommend the experience of a 1-2-1 session with him. The Alexander Technique is an effective way to improve your health, posture and performance.

I would like to introduce to you a very close friend of mine Sheila Ryan, who I  met when I first moved to Macclesfield.  I attended a local Buddhist group and Sheila Ryan was one of the facilitators. Since then we have become close friends.  Her support and wisdom surrounds and wraps me at times.  She is a Mindfulness facilitator and is constantly growing and developing her practice in Buddhism, she supports local businesses and individuals in their practices.

In these difficult and uncertain times it is very normal to experience strong emotions and thoughts. Perspective taken through mindfulness practice can be a great source of comfort and nourishment.   Visits her website  for a selection of online mediation sessions which are led by qualified instructors and are freely available to support you (some are offered ‘live’ and others are available as recordings.) There is no obligation to speak, contribute or identify yourself

James Nestor is a science journalist and bestselling author. His most recent book, Breath: The New Science of a Lost Art, explores the fascinating evolutionary biology and ancient practices of breathing. He’s also written about freediving, created an Emmy-nominated documentary, and been on various shows and podcasts.  For more information see his website.

He has done several podcasts which are well worth a listen, he is exceptional and  his  work is worth looking further into.  One of his many reviews is below:

“James Nestor’s new book about how breathing properly can transform your physical and mental health, feels eerily well-timed … These lessons might ease internal tensions in these stressful times but they’re really aimed at changing our daily lives when those resume in some way we’d recognize … Breath is not a self-help book, though it will appeal to readers looking to improve themselves … Nestor’s first-person experiences provide an intimate story, while his emphasis on hard scientific data backs up his feelings … Nestor does an excellent job of explaining both the basics — don’t breathe through your mouth, which feels pandemic-relevant — and the more complicated aspects of breathing properly. The book is brisk and detailed, a well-written read that is always entertaining, as he melds the personal, the historical, and the scientific”

A huge Thank You to Hannah Worsley who suggested and encouraged me to start this website. I was very reticent to even want one ,such self -doubts and insecurities coming to the forth. Not only did she design and build the site, many times she needed to encourage and counsel me to keep going.

Here is Hannah’s for more information- website
